What is Submarine Communications Cable?

Submarine communications cable is the underwater transatlantic telegraph cable: the telecommunication cable that connects the continents. Even though the satellite is developed to substitute the cable, 99% of international data is transmitted by the communication cable.
What is inside of the communication cable?
Submarine communications cable is made with 8 different materials. From the outermost part of the cable, it is made with Polyethylene (1), Mylar tape (2), stranded steel wires (3), aluminium water barrier (4), polycarbonate (5), copper tube (6), petroleum jelly (7), and optical fiber (8). The optical fiber transmits data by transferring light to the sensor, and other materials are used as the protection of the optical fiber.
