Problem of the Cable
Weak Protection on Optical Fiber
Optical Fiber is commonly used for transmitting data. However, since it is a glass, it is extremely sensitive about the external damage on it.
Because there are frequent shark bites on the cable, 7 layers of the cable will be damaged and consequently, the optical fiber will be broken, causing internet connection issue.
Extreme Repairing Condition
The communication cable is located underwater. Due to its location, it is difficult to replace the fiber and consequently, internet issue will be last longer.
Vietnam, for example, suffered internet issue due to the damage on the cable by a shark. Due to the difficulty to repair, the issue was prolonged.
